Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo

As in past years the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo Circuito Regionale Multidisciplinare  (Multidisciplinary Regional Circuit) will continue to pursue its objective of creating an organic, regional circuit to attain a broader outreach for live performances across Piedmont, during the 2017/18 season.  The vision it shares with its partner the Piedmont Region, with respect to developing territorial policies, has led to broadening the scope of Piemonte dal Vivo’s initiatives and has transformed it into a fully-fledged operating arm and a key partner for territorial stakeholders.

Piemonte dal Vivo provides support to theatrical and musical seasons in 65 municipalities. It programs over 700 performances in 95 different spaces with a total of over 145,000 spectators with its activities that are fully based and coordinated in Piedmont. The circuit functions as multiplier of opportunities, starting from the dialogue it has developed in recent years with the territory’s most prominent actors. This has resulted in creating an integrated system based on mutual recognition and also on optimising and sharing goals and initiatives.

The stages of theatres that are part of the circuit host a variety of performances of different genres and languages, ranging from drama to dance, from classical music and jazz to folk art and contemporary circus. These events are all part of an articulated programme, which responds to the specific needs of the territory and its community on the one hand and, on the other, achieves the objective of approaching and winning over an increasingly broad audience through an outstanding artistic offering and by establishing a dialogue with all stakeholders.

In this perspective PdV sees its role as being highly innovative and based on combining the promotion and dissemination of the performing arts together with territorial advocacy and development policies, as in the case of Lavanderie a Vapore: a new regional dance centre, an artistic residence that combines the redevelopment of a space in a metropolitan area and the structuring of processes required to support the new venture.

Designing in concert with stakeholders, while also enabling and strengthening creative processes, entails the fostering of concrete training activities and participative strategies to approach and broaden one’s public through targeted audience development actions. This kind of approach is also implemented in the joint project Piemonte dal Vivo has designed in partnership with Hangar Piemonte, a platform designed to promote good practices and innovative models for sustainability in the cultural sector.

The Foundation is an entity that is constantly moving ahead and expanding. It intends to reaffirm its role at a regional and national level, both through the consolidation of its strategy and working method, but equally by laying the ground for new lines of development.
